mile long lake offers many scenic gems to add to your peaceful

waterways, many bays, an island, and two loons to add to your
experience.

isolated

Mighty Madawaska River

The
Madawaska River is one
of Ontario’s premier whitewater paddling destinations, a ‘must’ for all
whitewater enthusiasts. Warm and clean
currents, challenging rapids and a remote wilderness setting are all
present to
maximize your enjoyment on this mighty river.

throughout the season.

to the famed Bon Echo Rock on the Mazinaw to view the ancient Indian
pictographs? Exploring Joeperry Lake?
Or taking a trip down the Skootamatta River, catching glimpses of deer,
moose,
elk, and countless birds and other animals in their natural setting on
a
wilderness preserve? Just fifteen minutes from the Swiss Inn, Bon Echo
Park is
the perfect place to start.
From
the Lagoon you can
launch your own kayak/canoe or you can rent.
Rentals come complete with paddles, life jackets,
bail bucket and
floatable towrope. You can rent by the
hour, ½ day, full day or overnight.

| Greater Madawaska Canoe Rentals |

The Greater Madawaska Canoe Rentals, owned and operated by Don & Marie Adams, have been shuttling experienced kayakers and canoeists to various drop-off locations along the Madawaska to begin their whitewater adventure tours since 1988. Paddle down the Madawaska and take-out with your vehicle waiting for you.
All canoes come equipped with paddles, life jackets, a bail bucket, and a towrope. Prices vary on time of trip and type of water you are encountering.

Certified Ontario Recreational Canoe Association (ORCA) and Whitewater Ontario (WO) instructors are available to conduct ORCA Moving Water 1 & 2 canoe courses and Whitewater Ontario kayak courses. Both ORCA and Whitewater Ontario are recognized for upholding the highest whitewater paddling standards in the industry.
You can either join a pre-arranged course, or with a group of four to eight persons, a course can be arranged for you.
