Vernon Wheeler started working in the sugar bush at age 6 with his father Earl Wheeler near Snow Road. In 1979 Vernon and Judy tapped the first trees at the present site. As their children Mark (and now his wife Shannon), Angela, Kristen, and Tracy have gotten older and have been able to help more at the Sugar Bush they have expanded their operation. Wheelers Sugar Bush is now one of the largest producers in Eastern Ontario with 13,500 taps. Over 180 kilometers of pipeline is used to collect the sap. |

Our peaceful forest property has been enjoyed by 6 generations of Fulton's. Successive generations have produced maple syrup and worked on and off the farm. Some of your questions may be answered in our FAQ.
There are two main buildings, the largest being the restaurant and gift shop. Situated 20 feet behind this is the sugar camp where the actual syrup production takes place. Both buildings are wheelchair accessible. Smoking receptacles are available outside each door. |
